After 11 incredible years of serving this community, we have closed our doors. We know this saddens many, but don’t be sad because we love our Suffolk community and are not done making everyone have the time of their life!
What began as a dream between a Suffolkian that loved hospitality and to entertain others who stumbled across a country cook from Bayboro, NC became something far greater than a restaurant, it became a landmark, a gathering place, and for many, a second home.
From Jeremy’s Grandma Goldie’s Chicken Salad to Mama Lisa’s Pigs Feet that her grandma taught her at a young age when you needed a stool to reach the stove.
From the now famous Collards that need no vinegar added at the table, to Mama Lisa’s Fried Chicken.
Your favorite drinks were always flowing while the food filled our kitchen with purpose and our dining room with joy.
Over the years, it became routine:
Work, Home, then Mason’s.
School, Home, Mason’s.
But it was always more than a meal.
We’ve watched first-time parents bring in newborn babies after their very first check-up. We’ve hosted Great-Grandparents Celebration of Life, graduations, class reunions, little league teams, teachers unwinding after long weeks, families gathering after services at the local Veterans Cemetery, and service members returning home from deployment.
We’ve celebrated 100th birthdays and 21st birthdays, sometimes at the same time on a Friday evening!
Many lifelong friendships were formed around these tables. First dates turned into engagements, and engagements turned into marriages. Mason’s wasn’t just where you filled your belly and had a cold one; it’s where life happened.
You never quite knew what kind of celebration was happening when you walked through our doors — and that’s what made it special.
We are deeply grateful for the dedicated Mason’s Crew, past and present, who worked tirelessly to provide Southern Suffolk hospitality with heart. And we are beyond thankful for every single guest who chose to make us part of their lives. We are sure we will cross paths sometime in the future.
Jeremy and country cook Lisa, who became Suffolk’s 3-time Best Chef. Jeremy and Mama Lisa connected and created a team that was truly special. Now, after more than a decade of pouring love into this community, they are ready to slow down, take a well-deserved break, and begin chasing another dream.
It is unfortunate for those that never had the chance to dine with us, attend one of our caterings, or have the honor of becoming a regular. The memories made here will live on for generations.
Please know that our story is not over.

After a well-deserved break, we’ll share news about our next adventure.
From our family to yours, thank you for 11 beautiful years.
You made Mason’s “locally loved.”
With heartfelt gratitude,
